Bible Study & Prayer

2pm Wednesday Afternoon - All Welcome

Coffee

Our main midweek event is the Prayer and Bible Study meeting. We meet in a small group over coffee or tea, to get to know each other, to discuss the Bible together, and to pray.

Bible

As we look at God’s word together, it’s a great opportunity to get to know one another, to look after each other more personally, to be aware of prayer and pastoral needs, and to develop real friendships that can help encourage us in the Christian life. Discussing the Bible together will give us confidence when we are reading on our own. Most importantly, through the Bible God speaks to us and transforms us.

Prayer

We end each Bible study with prayer: it’s a vital part of every meeting! As a church, and as individuals, we depend on God’s help and power. It’s essential for us to pray together, for one another, for the church, for God’s mission here and around the world. Without God’s power at work, we become just another club.

So we end each meeting by sharing how we can pray for one another, and then praying for each other as well as for the church. Many people find praying in a group intimidating: that’s fine, and there’s no pressure to pray or to share in any way you aren’t comfortable with. But you can still join us, and pray in your heart.
